I've been called a hypochondriac due to all my symptoms and complaints. i also was in the er with the same symptoms. it took five visits until they said your liver level is high, and were just going to treat you for a tick bite disease. this was a little over a month ago. I finished the antibiotics and three days later I had another flare up. i'm still waiting to see infectious disease. and I still suffer from certain symptoms. There is a specific test for Ehrlichiosis - it takes ten days for results but it will confirm the disease or rule it out. Y-NH is probably the best hospital (and teaching hospital) in Connecticut; I'm surprised they didn't run the appropriate test. I'm a writer, not a doctor, but it would seem that their treatment team would have found the best workaround for doxycycline (Betty had one other drug as well). Email me if you want more specifics.<br />Neal SandersThe Principal Undergardenerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01587525514605371821noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3498010675717688273.post-59320628622615394412012-09-10T12:33:01.273-04:002012-09-10T12:33:01.273-04:00Betty's story is exactly mine, and like Betty ...Betty's story is exactly mine, and like Betty I don't complain, I rarely go to doctors, and the only medication I take is levoxyl. I live in the country with a horse and a dog. Last November, I spent four days and three nights in Yale New Haven Hospital and was interviewed by specialists of every venue. Final diagnosis was Ehrlichiosis. I'm allergic to doxycycline so amoxycillin (spelling?)had to be prescribed. Here it is, two months short of a year later, and I'm having leg muscle spasms and knee pain which also seems to be muscular. Luckily, over-the-counter pain killers work. Is it Ehrlichiosis, or is it something else? Who knows....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
